The site was granted outline planning permission in May 2017 for residential use, along with an extension to the playing fields car park.
This means that the general principle of residential development on this site, along with the access arrangements has been approved.
Detailed matters such as layout, landscaping, scale and appearance are now being sought by Bellway Homes Ltd (Yorkshire).
Access will be taken from two points on West Leys Road. Access to the site has already been approved by the Council under the approved outline application.
Further detail regarding the layout and design of the site was provided at a consultation event which took place on the 5th September 2018 at Swanland Village Hall.
